Education
The current explosion
of misinformation makes it hard to find the truth. If a lie is repeated often
enough, people start to believe it. If it’s continually in the media and the
classroom, you and your children may be deceived.
Help prevent the
corruption of the rising generation by learning and teaching the information at

Beware of the
corruption of education for personal or political gain. Don’t be a teacher who
corrupts public education with leftist ideology. Don’t be fooled by a teacher
who does.
“If this list is accurate — and that may be
confirmed by visiting a college bookstore and seeing what books are assigned by
any given instructor — most American parents and/or their child are going into
debt in order to support an institution that for four years, during the most
impressionable years of a person’s life, instills values that are the opposite
of those of their parents. And that is intentional. As Woodrow Wilson,
progressive president of Princeton University before becoming president of the
United States, said in a speech in 1914, ‘I have often said that the use of a
university is to make young gentlemen as unlike their fathers as possible.’” (2/29/2012)

“Is it any wonder, poll after poll
demonstrates students are alienated from their own culture? Clearly many of
those who will eventually assume leadership positions are no longer learning
about their civilization's triumphs and its singular role in transforming the
human condition. According to a National Association of Scholars report issued
in 2011, ‘The Vanishing West: 1964-2010,’ only two percent of colleges offer
western civilization as a course requirement. Remarkably, western civilization
is rarely even required for history majors. By contrast, most institutions from
1964 through the 1970s did have this requirement. In 1987 Jesse Jackson led
Stanford protestors in a chant of ‘hey hey, ho ho,
Western Culture's got to go.’ The purpose of this demonstration was to
eliminate a course on Western Civilization, and, mirabile dictu,
Jackson and his claque were successful. From the triumphs of the West -- such
as individual rights, the rule of law, minority rights, free markets, the
search for truth, the separation of church and state --emerged a form of
curriculum apologetics for racism, imperialism, sexism, colonialism. The course
that stood as the foundation stone in the curriculum was shattered by an
ideological bandwagon. In the absence of this foundation, the curriculum began
spinning out of control into a phantasmagoria of offerings, many narrow in
scope, many trivial in nature and many adhering to notions of political
correctness.” (12/19/11)

“Liberal elites have dominated most
university faculties for years, but it seems they've become bolder, more
radical and more militant. It is not their ideas I fear, because Christianity
and conservatism stand up to truth challenges. It is the moral preening, the
politicization of academics, the peer pressure, the revisionist distortions and
the potential discrimination against dissenters … Are you sure, for example,
that your kids have the discernment to recognize the disinformation that
Christianity and conservatism are hardhearted, selfish, hateful, bigoted and
intellectually backward and the strength to oppose it? Apart from your kids'
presumed respect for you, do they have the intellectual ammunition and the
spiritual armor to resist the pressure to conform?” (4/2/11)
"Kids Aren't Cars"
is a new short film series set for release February 1st. Using examples from
the Midwest, it documents the impact organized labor has had on the American
education system, creating a one-size-fits-all assembly line model that leaves
students behind and treats teachers equally, stifling innovation and
improvement. See the trailer here. Our government education system has
been spending more and more each year, yet the results have been the same.
While unions demand higher spending - which of course ends up in the pockets of
their members - money is not fixing the problem. Those that have been in the
trenches gave shocking interviews - stories of money grabs by adults while
children are left behind.” (1/17/11)

“American politicians have tried to fix our
nation’s chronic academic woes with more taxpayer money – but those efforts
have failed … Politicians have also tried adding new layers of bureaucracy …
Why should we try universal choice? Because to be perfectly blunt we’ve tried
everything else – and nothing has worked. Also, aside from the perpetual
demonization of choice by those who have a vested financial interest in
preserving our nation’s failed status quo – why shouldn’t we try it? Needless
to say the stakes are high. For example, a recent study conducted by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development
(OECD) and Stanford University researchers found that if America could boost
its average PISA scores by 25 points over the next 20 years, it would result in
$41 trillion worth of economic benefits for the generation of Americans born in
2010.” (12/16/10)
“Throughout most of The Beautiful Tree Tooley shows rather than

parental needs and requirements … Their quality is higher than that of
government schools provided for the poor.’ And his findings are not merely
anecdotal. Governmental officials showed little interest in his findings, but a
Templeton Foundation grant allowed him to create research teams that tested

“But
a large measure of responsibility falls on our shoulders as parents. When
even good students text during class, talk out loud, or speak disrespectfully
to teachers, it’s a failure of parenting more than a failure of the schools. It’s
up to us to hold our children to a higher standard, one that shows respect in
dress, tone of voice, words, and actions. And it all starts at home … A
teacher friend of mine reminded me that parents should guide their ‘good kids’
to make a difference in creating a classroom culture of respect. Some of our
children are gifted leaders. Their leadership is meant not only for the sports
field, student government, or clubs but also for the classroom, supporting a
culture that takes learning seriously … Similarly, a classroom leader who
chooses to text in class or check sports scores on their cell phone erodes the
climate of respect within the classroom. Alternatively, a well-timed
encouragement for others to ‘Listen!’ can make a difference. Remind your
children that when they step up to the plate and demonstrate respect for
authority, it sets the tone for others to follow.” (10/19/10)

legislative goals are only a small part of the mischief endorsed at the NEA's

pro-abortion and anti-parent resolutions. The NEA's left-wing bias is also
obvious in its resolutions calling for public school curricula to include multiculturism, globalism, environmentalism, diversity,
AIDS, sexual orientation ... gun control … When will parents wake up to whom is
running the public schools?” (8/5/10)

“Jesus was not nice to the Pharisees. In
fact, He had this to say to them: ‘Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees,
hypocrites! For you are like whitewashed tombs which indeed appear beautiful
outwardly, but inside are full of dead men’s bones and all uncleanness. Even so
you outwardly appear righteous to men, but inside you are full of hypocrisy and
lawlessness.’ (Matthew 23: 27-28). David Wheaton, author of

the discrimination against white and Asian applicants, because of the color of

Hispanic student otherwise equally matched in background characteristics would
have to have 1230, a white student a 1410, and an Asian student a 1550’ … That
such bigotry is pervasive in 2010 at institutions that preen about how
progressive they are is disgusting." (7/20/10)

“Is totalitarianism the natural end of all
forms of government, or are men capable of ruling themselves? Without the
foundation of Locke, do American children have the philosophical foundation necessary
to understand what is truly evil about Stalin and Marx and conversely, what is
good and unique about America? I am concerned when young students can’t
identify the source of the ideas upon which their nation was founded, but can
easily identify men whose political beliefs are in direct opposition to those
ideas … It was the revolutionary ideas of natural rights and government limited
to the occupation of securing those rights that influenced America’s founding
fathers. Locke is quoted and paraphrased throughout much of

“It’s no wonder that Obama’s propaganda efforts
use electronic mediums, pledges, and songs. Such strategies also fit in with
the emotional manipulation that goes on in the classroom, where attitude is
valued over knowledge ... Today’s students are indoctrinated through illiteracy
and incomplete history. They are rarely given the challenging works like
Frederick Douglass’s to read in the original. They are rarely given the full
picture about our history and our Judeo-Christian heritage, so needed to place
Douglass in context, as someone capable of engaging in conversation involving
the great ideas of the West. Instead, he is used to illustrate their Marxist
notions of ‘social justice,’ and in an oversimplified cartoonish manner. Barack
Obama, former professor of “critical race theory” (Marxism with a new spin),
has surrounded himself with similar anti-intellectual educators: his partner in
the crime of failing schools in Chicago, Bill Ayers; ‘safe schools czar’ Kevin
Jennings; and his campaign education advisor Linda Darling-Hammond.” (7/5/10)

it was accidental.” (1/4/10)

national service administrators across the country share the same core
commitment to transforming themselves from imparters of knowledge to
transformers of society. The "change" agenda trains students to think

President Obama will give a speech to schoolchildren next Tuesday (and the
Department of Education’s plan to ensure children “learn” from it) goes beyond
Orwellian: it’s practically Soviet ... What Obama says during the speech itself

learn political lessons. (9/5/09)

admitting that Gitmo is an above average facility still
not apologizing or correcting the matter), and most recently a judicial nominee
who evidently has been saying for over a decade that Latina women are morally
superior to all white males. But the nomination of Kevin Jennings breaks new
territory, one that endangers the health, happiness, and welfare of your child,
and every other child in the public education system … This early attempt to

its cancellation is not a result of costing too much, because it's half the

this: federal control and educational indoctrination.” (4/30/09)
